Bally Acquires Games4you

Slot and system manufacturer Bally Technologies announced that it is acquiring Scottsdale, Arizona-based Games4you LLC, the casino design firm formed by Jason Stage, the former slot design VP for Atronic Americas.

Stage, who headed up R&D for years at Atronic, formed Slots4You in 2006 in partnership with former Atronic owner Michael Gauselmann. He is currently managing director/owner, along with Dave Tucker, also managing director/owner. The firm has produced several successful games under a contract with Atronic, including the popular "Passion" reel-spinning series and "Return of the Sphinx," and has also designed games for Konami. The company also has an agreement with Hasbro to produce slots based on the "Game of LIFE" board game.

The Games4you team, consisting of game developers, mathematicians, animators, graphic artists, illustrators and media techs-most who are former Atronic employees and have worked with each other for years-will remain in the former company's Scottsdale headquarters, as a new regional slot development headquarters for Bally. According to the company, the new division will produce new reel-spinning slots, video slots, wide-area progressives, Class II and lottery games.

Stage and Tucker will each hold the title of director of software development with Bally.

"After seeing the power and innovation of Bally's game-development team, we are ready to combine our strengths to bring hot games and cool solutions to the Bally portfolio," said Tucker. "The leadership team of Bally Technologies is bringing vision to the gaming industry, and we are excited to become a key part of building on the company's 78-year heritage of innovation."

"To truly bring the next generation of games to our industry, you must have the full power of a company with leading system and server-based technology, innovative game technology, a full IP library, strong financial resources, and a leadership team with vision to partner with... We have found that partner in Bally Technologies," added Stage.

"The addition of Games4you complements Bally's award-winning global team of game content and hardware developers," said Bally Chief Operating Officer Gavin Isaacs, "and extends our ability to deliver the industry's most compelling games. Games4you's proven experience in delivering cutting-edge games that delight players and drive revenue for casino operators will only strengthen Bally as a leading provider of creative and high-performing games."
