There seems to be no shortage of international companies willing to put up huge casino resorts in Hungary. The latest announcement is part of a project being led by a couple of guys who seem to have the clout to get it done. The project is planned for Lake Velence (l.), near Budapest.

One of Malta’s premier casinos is looking for an operator for the next 10 years. The license is being sought by three groups, including the current operator. One complicating factor: Two of the groups that have tendered bids are also involved with unregulated VLT operations that have been a thorn in the side of the casino.

The resort town of Torbay on the southern coast of England was a recipient of one of the eight “small casino” licenses handed out last year. The local government is proceeding with its plans in an orderly fashion.
